Lee Roy Selmon's lifestyle is one of football scholarships, family involvement and community involvement. First, his family. Lucious Selmon was the father of Jessie Selmon. He and his wife raised nine children on a Eufala farm. Two football. He is one of three brothers who played for Oklahoma. Three of them made All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy was named the best offensive lineman in the United States by Outland and Lombardi Awards. He won two championships and 32-1-1 in his three seasons as Oklahoma's starter. As an National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon was given an award for his third season in the year 1975. Selmon earned a degree in education. Lee Roy's fourth time of service included ten hours per week as a volunteer in the college. He moved to Tampa after graduation, and playing for the Buccaneers for nine seasons and made three times all-pro. His career in business began. By 1988, he became an Account Representative for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also a part of the following organisations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It was not a surprise when, in 1982, The Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy one of 10 young stars across the country. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and stood at a height of 7-foot-2. While he was in college, he was the captain of the 1975 team. In 1993, he became the athletic director's assistant at University of South Florida. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 awarded its Distinguished American Award to his parents, Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor who made this presentation.
