The combination of reggaeton and pop music has not only brought attention back to the genre, but as well to Latin music as a whole. The Billboard Top 100 included four mostly Spanish songs from 2016 compared with two for 2015. Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny to create MIA (2018) in addition to Madonna collaborated with Maluma for the release of Medellin. From the beginning of the year 2020, some musicians from reggaeton felt dissatisfied with the direction the genre was shifting towards the mainstream. Rauw Alajandro is a member of a brand new generation looking to alter the course. The incorporation of elements from electronic dance music and different styles was an accepted procedure.
